Thankfully we have found a solution to our structural dilemma. Our engineer has confirmed that the external leaf of the new cavity walls for bedroom 3 can be supported on 10mm steel plates. Beams D1 and D2 are to be located in line with the existing partition wall above (and with the inner leaf of the cavity walls).
This is great news as not only can we move forwards, but there is minimal change to the existing steel plans and no need for any ground work to reposition the existing support.
I can’t tell you how relieved I am!
