Going Batty for Halloween!

If I can get my art on in some way or another, I will, and what better than at Halloween! It provides the best opportunity to get creative and to release your playful inner self.

These black card bats are simple, yet effective, and make for a fab spooky door decoration. Why not ditch all the shop bought plastic this year and give this creative DIY project a go for yourself!

All you need…

Create a bat template, either through drawing one yourself, or downloading one. It’s best to use white paper for this as it will stand out on the black card when you trace around it. I created 3 template sizes for a variation of bat sizes.

Fold your A4 black card in half and place the also folded template on it, making sure the correct side sits against the fold and draw around it.

Cut out your bat along the pencil trace line and stick an adhesive glue dot in the centre of the external fold. Repeat as many times as desired and then get assembling! Attach your bats to the front of your door to create your own spooky colony of swooping bats.
