The Perfect Night’s Sleep – Tutti&Co

I hand this guest blog post over to a good friend of mine who owns a stunning design-led business called Tutti&Co (@tuttiandco). Kate, the founder, produces seasonal jewellery, fashion accessories and home and lifestyle collections all inspired by our natural surroundings and Kate’s travels around the globe. Her taste and style is effortless. Everything she puts the Tutti name to, is simply wonderful and if I could, I’d have it all!

Hello, I’m Kate creative director and founder of lifestyle brand Tutti&Co. I founded the business 15 years ago, after leaving university with a Ba Hons in Fashion Marketing. I’ve always had a huge passion for interiors and accessories and set up the business after finding it difficult to find a creative job in the north east. Our studio is set on the Northumberland coastline with stunning views across the River Tyne and North Sea. Our brand ethos is simple… I believe true elegance starts from within, and with a positive attitude and relaxed sensibility, life should be lived to its fullest.

As we have all had to make several adjustments to life over the past few weeks, I would like to share with you the bedtime routine I’ve been focussing on, to support wellbeing for me and my family. Getting a restful nights’ sleep at the moment, however, is proving to be a real challenge for many of us and so I’ve pulled together some top tips for letting go of the days’ worries and unwinding for the ultimate soothing slumber. If you feel well rested, your creative mind will continue to be active…

Prepare a Bath

A warm bath is proven to relax the muscles and mind, encouraging the brain to release sleep hormone melatonin. A long-time fan of Neom Organics, I’m loving their soothing Bedtime Hero bath foam from their ‘Scent to Sleep’ range. With 11 specially chosen essential oils as well as skin softening marshmallow and coconut oil, lie back and relax and light a candle for some deep relaxation.

Listen to a podcast

With so many great podcasts, focussing on all aspects of health, fitness and wellbeing we’re spoilt for choice on inspiring wellness content. With her simple routines and strategies however I’m loving ‘Feel Good Effect’ hosted by Robyn Conley Downs. Pop in your earbuds and tap into her radically simple strategies that really work.

Slip into soft PJ’s

An ultimate pyjama fan, I’m always the go-to in the studio for a great pyjama recommendation. Made from 100% Organic cotton in a straight relaxed fit this Arket trouser and shirt set is soft, stylish and comfortable for the cosiest night between the sheets. To let you into a little secret, we are working hard to launch our own PJ collection for Autumn Winter.

Fresh and crisp bedding

We all love the feeling of climbing into a freshly made bed, and I’m super excited to launch our own stunning bedding collection, made from the softest sateen and featuring our signature hand painted prints. Every print is designed and painted in house and draws inspiration from our natural surroundings. Made from Organic cotton and made in Spain, throw on a printed duvet cover and pillowcases for an instant bedroom makeover and mood boost! Finish with a spritz of Neom Organics, Perfect Night’s Sleep Pillow Mist for the final bedtime touch.

Immerse yourself in a book

Try to leave your final hour before bed device-free. Recent research shows that the blue light emitted by electronic devices throws the body’s biological clock out of rhythm and so reading a good book is a better way to take the mind away from the strains of the day. Charlie Mackesy’s – The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse is a gorgeous message for our time conveying the most inspiring celebration of kindness, compassion and understanding – the ultimate way to end the day, and the perfect tonic for the unsure and unsettling times ahead.
